When a spot finally becomes available for a waitlisted team, it is natural to want to jump the gun and set the teams status to confirmed right away. League Lab strongly encourages you too slow this process down and 'Offer' the team a spot in the league. There are a couple reasons why this is done:
- This allows the team to decide if they still want to join the league. There are some teams that may be on the waitlist for too long or don't get confirmed right away and quickly lose players to vacations or work.
- Accepting an offer will require the team to input payment information if that has not been collected previously.
- Creates an open flow of communication between you and your captains, which in the long term will develop trust.
When setting a team to 'Offered' the window below will appear. You must ALWAYS make sure that the email box is checked. If a captain has their text message notification on, it is a good idea to check that box as well. If these are not checked, the captain will never receive an email of the offered position.
